General terms and conditions of the rental vehicles

1. General terms and conditions
   The renter and all drivers must have a valid driving license.
2. Rental charges
   The cost of refueling or fuel shall be borne by the renter who returns the vehicle without refueling. The renter is liable for all charges incurred in connection with the use of the vehicle, such as fines or penalties.
3. Returning the vehicle
   The Hirer is obliged to return the vehicle to SCHAWE Car Design GmbH, Landabsatz 33, 45731 Waltrop, Germany, at the end of the agreed rental period and during opening hours (unless otherwise agreed).
4. Authorized drivers
   The vehicle may only be driven by the Hirer himself or by members of the Hirer's family who meet the requirements of the contract. The Hirer is obliged to provide the names of all drivers on request.
5. Use
   The vehicle may only be used for its original rental purpose, i.e. use on the road. The vehicle may not be used for test purposes or sublet to third parties. All other uses that go beyond the contractual use are prohibited.
6. Repairs
   No repairs of any kind may be carried out on the rented vehicles without the prior agreement and express permission of SCHAWE Car Design GmbH.
7. Conduct in the event of an accident or damage
   In the event of damage, the Lessee must notify the police immediately. This shall also apply in the event of accidents caused by the Hirer without the involvement of third parties. In the event of damage (including minor damage), the renter must immediately draw up a detailed written report and outline the course of the accident. In particular, the license plate number, name and address of other persons or vehicles involved in the accident must be noted.
8. Information on the vehicles
   All vehicles are in a roadworthy condition and comply with all safety regulations. First-aid kits, warning triangles and high-visibility vests are located in the designated places in the trunk, the original vehicle registration document is in the glove compartment. All vehicles are absolutely non-smoking vehicles, please adhere to this. If the vehicle is not treated with care and is grossly soiled (this also applies to the smell of smoke in the interior), the renter will be charged for the corresponding cleaning.
9. Liability of the renter
   The renter is fully liable for any damage that occurs, including damage caused by non-contractual use, for example by an unauthorized driver. The renter is also fully liable in the event of a hit-and-run accident, as well as if damage is caused intentionally.

All SCHAWE rental vehicles are insured against third party liability and fully comprehensive cover, the excess in the event of damage is € 1,500.
