Mercedes-Benz Service A - "small inspection"
For Mercedes-Benz vehicles, Service A means the "basic inspection". All the basic work required to maintain vehicle operation and mobility is carried out here. This includes, among other things, checking the fluid levels as well as the lighting and changing the engine oil and filters.
The scope of services in detail
- Vehicle acceptance incl. documentation of previous damage
- Short-test/diagnosis (read out and check error memory)
- Check warning and indicator lights in the instrument cluster
- Check interior and symbol lighting
- Check front and rear lighting
- Check horn, headlight flasher, hazard warning lights and indicators
- Check horn for function
- Check battery
- Check the outside of the vehicle for damage in the visible area
- Check front panel for damage
- Replace air filter
- Check wiper blades and windscreen washer system
- Check the function of the headlamp cleaning system
- Engine: Change oil & filter (partial synthetic oil included, fully synthetic oil possible at extra charge)
- Check coolant level in the coolant expansion tank (engine cooling system, corrosion and antifreeze protection)
- Brake system: Check fluid level
- Carry out brake test on test bench
- Assess the condition of the brake system and brake discs
- Assess the condition and tread depth of the tyres
- Correct tyre pressure
- Lubricate bonnet lock, safety hooks and hinges
- Resetting the service indicator in the instrument cluster (only vehicles with Assyst)

The service interval - due date and documentation
Service A is due for the first time after 12 months from the purchase of a new car. Thereafter it is carried out at intervals of a maximum of 24 months.
We document the inspection and maintenance work in your Digital Service Book (DSB).
