Retrofit: MULTIBEAM LED (Code P35)

The MULTIBEAM LED headlights allow continuous high beam without dazzling other road users. Individually controllable LEDs precisely avoid other vehicles and at the same time illuminate the surroundings almost as bright as day. A further design highlight: the blue glowing accents in the headlamp.

  • enables extremely fast and precise electronically controlled adaptation of the driving light to the current traffic situation
  • Individually controllable LEDs allow the light to be switched on exactly where it is needed, there is no mechanical shading
  • extends and perfects the functions known from the Intelligent Light System, especially for high beam
  • Automatic main beam control by Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus for permanent wide illumination of the road
  • Partial switching off of the LEDs of the high beam modules to avoid dazzling vehicles in front or oncoming (partial high beam)
  • variable dipped beam for country roads and motorways
  • high beam and partial high beam adapted to the motorway situation
  • active bend lighting for significantly more illumination of the bend, in combination with the lane package or driver assistance package, the light is illuminated before the steering wheel is turned into the bend
  • automatic cornering light
  • Cornering light with roundabout function in combination with COMAND Online activates the cornering light before entering a roundabout
  • Citylicht provides a wide light distribution at low speeds and within illuminated towns and villages, illuminating even hard-to-see pavements and danger zones
  • In rainy weather, bad weather light reduces reflections on the oncoming lane by selectively dimming individual LEDs and actively contributes to avoiding indirect glare for oncoming traffic
  • extended fog light for better orientation in poor visibility
  • Location lighting welcomes the driver during the unlocking process of the vehicle by means of an extraordinary light show

MULTIBEAM LED and Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus (partial high beam)

Each headlamp is equipped with 84 LEDs for the best possible illumination of the road. This allows the light to be switched on exactly where it is needed. A total of 4 control units calculate the ideal light image 100 times per second, using the information from a camera placed behind the windscreen. When the high beam is switched on, Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus always provides the best possible headlamp range. The driver can concentrate on the traffic and does not have to constantly fade up and down. Using a camera positioned behind the windshield, the system detects oncoming or preceding illuminated vehicles and automatically adjusts the headlights to the new traffic situation. The LEDs of the high beam modules are partially switched off and each produce a U-shaped light cutout. The other areas of the roadway are still illuminated with high beam (partial high beam).

Country road and motorway light, motorway main beam and motorway partial main beam

The country road light illuminates the roadside of the vehicle brighter and more widely than conventional dipped beam. This allows the driver to orientate himself better and react earlier. When a motorway situation is detected, the range of the light is modified - the driver can see about 50 metres further than with conventional low beam. If Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus is switched on and high beam is active, a light distribution optimized for the motorway situation is set. This reduces the risk of glare from oncoming trucks and focuses the truck driver's attention on his own roadway. Depending on the traffic situation, the motorway partial high beam with light cut-out is activated in order to avoid dazzling other road users on the motorway by means of a targeted light cut-out.

Active bend lighting

With active bend lighting, the headlamps can swivel into the bend and thus illuminate the road much better. In combination with the Lane Package or the Driving Assistance Package, predictive curve recognition is possible. Active bend lighting illuminates before the steering wheel is turned into the bend, and shines out again before leaving the bend. Dangers can thus be detected earlier. This function uses the information from the camera placed behind the windscreen. The active bend lighting is thus available regardless of the quality and timeliness of the navigation data.

Cornering light and cornering light with roundabout function

An additional LED light source in the headlamp improves night-time illumination of the road when turning and in tight bends. At a certain steering wheel angle, the cornering light is automatically switched on on the corresponding side. In addition, the cornering lights are activated when reversing and when the direction indicator is set below 40 km/h. Activation and deactivation take place in a harmonious dimming process. In conjunction with COMAND Online, the positions of roundabouts along the route are determined. This makes it possible to activate the cornering light with roundabout function even before entering the roundabout. This enables the driver to recognize potential hazards, such as pedestrian crossings or approaching cyclists, earlier.

Extended fog light

Below 70 km/h and as soon as the rear fog light is switched on, the extended fog light can be activated. This swivels the headlamp on the driver's side by 8° outwards and at the same time lowers the light cone. This provides brighter illumination of the outer half of the road and simultaneously reduces the driver's own glare from the light reflected by the fog. The extended fog light remains on up to a speed of 100 km/h.

A suitable front camera in the windscreen is required for the conversion of the main headlights. If this is missing, additional costs will be incurred.
The compatibility must be checked beforehand.
To check the compatibility we need the chassis number of your vehicle.
