All-round refined super sports car

The company SCHAWE Car Design from Waltrop, located in the Ruhr area near Recklinghausen, has primarily built up a good reputation as a specialist for refining all kinds of Mercedes and AMG models. However, it is quite obvious that they also understand how to individualise vehicles from other manufacturers. This is proven by the example shown here of the very high-priced Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, a mid-engine super sports car that has undergone an extremely thorough and elaborate reworking.

It is true that the Aventador is already a real dream car ex works, which inspires equally with its powerful V12, a sharply drawn metal dress and the high-quality interior. Nevertheless, in this case the owner wanted an even more refined and sporty appearance and, what's more - you wouldn't believe it - the background noise in the interior was a little too loud for him.

Interior completely renewed
As a result, the SCHAWE team first had to completely clear out the Italian flounder from Sant'Agata Bolognese. The next step was to start lining the interior and other areas of the bodywork, such as the wheel arches, with Alubutyl insulating mats. When this task was successfully completed, the entire interior of the passenger compartment could be reinstalled, but of course not before it had received a finishing touch. Each element was covered in leather, Alcantara or both, and orange decorative seams were added to match the body's paint finish - these partly form a honeycomb pattern on the seats and door panels. The Alcantara outer skin covers not only the steering wheel, the dashboard and the headlining, but even the footwells including the floor mats. The latter also have personalised embroidery, as do the seat side bolsters.

Optimized sound system
As additional highlights, various carbon accents are added, such as parts of the steering wheel rim and on the dashboard and centre console. And while the customer wanted to shut out the outside noise a little more, the equipment for sound generation inside, i.e. the audio system, was to be upgraded. Among other things, new hi-fi loudspeakers, including tweeters and a subwoofer placed between the seats and an associated Alpine power amplifier were installed. Furthermore, the Aventador now enables WLAN and Bluetooth streaming and has a mobile phone cradle with integrated charging function.

Bodywork with lots of carbon
The exterior of the Coupé is also lavishly finished. Various body parts have been newly produced as custom-made parts or some have been completely or partially coated with real carbon. Thus now the roof, the bonnet, the exterior mirrors, the rear wing, large areas of the aprons, and even the windscreen wiper arms shimmer greyish in the sun. Thus they form a strong and harmonious contrast to the already mentioned painting of the Lamborghini in bright orange. The carbon front spoiler, which is pushed far forward, is covered with metal sheets from below for its protection.

Wide rims in 20 and 21 inch
Even with the extremely large wheels of the Aventador, the carbon look does not stop there. They are also coated with real carbon. The front 9x20 inch rims, which measure an incredible 13x21 inch at the front and 13x21 inch at the rear, are covered with Pirelli tyres in the XXL dimensions 255/30 ZR20 and 355/25 ZR21. Meanwhile, the southern European top athlete remained virtually unchanged in technical terms. Of course, no modifications were necessary: in addition to the classic V12 vacuum cleaner, whose power is transmitted via a sequential seven-speed gearbox, there was also, for example, a brake system with carbon-ceramic discs measuring 400 millimetres at the front and 380 millimetres at the rear and 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear.
