Refreshed look thanks to SCHAWE

In this day and age, in which more and more models and derivatives are coming onto the market faster and faster - as is the case, for example, with German premium manufacturers such as Mercedes - product life cycles are inevitably becoming shorter and shorter. Of course, as a buyer you can hardly keep up to date with the up-to-dateness of your own vehicle, because only very few people can or want to buy a new car every two to three years when the next model change or facelift is just around the corner. But in the Mercedes sector, there is a solution for everyone who wants to stay up to date - thanks to the specialists at SCHAWE Car Design.

The company from Waltrop near Dortmund has specialised in facelift conversions, among other things. They are now proving this with an extremely powerful duo from Affalterbach. On the one hand, this is a copy of the AMG GT S sports coupé. Even more powerful is the S 65 equipped with its six-litre V12 - at least from a dynamic point of view, it represents the absolute top of the luxury saloon and thus one of the most superior ways of driving the S-Class.

First-class facelift conversions

At first glance, both vehicles appear to be completely standard for laymen or the uninitiated, almost as if they had rolled out of the factory exactly as they did. And in this case this can undoubtedly be seen as a compliment, as it is proof of the high quality of SCHAWE's work. Because the S 65 is not a representative of the latest version, but an older vintage vehicle. SCHAWE rejuvenated its appearance through extensive conversions: The front apron including the radiator grille and the rear apron including the diffuser and exhaust tailpipes were installed. In addition, of course, there are the new multibeam LED headlights and the revised LED rear lights in crystal optics. In addition, there was an El cable set and the control unit was also adapted. Such a conversion is possible thanks to special SCHAWE adapters not only for the genuine S 65, but also for the S-classes of the 222 series with other engines up to the Maybach and even its extra-long Pullman version. The AMG GT S primarily received a conversion of the front to the current look with the striking Panamerica radiator grille, which was also achieved thanks to the use of SCHAWE adapters. It also carries the adjustable carbon rear wing, which is actually only available on the top GT R model. In addition to the aforementioned conversions and components, SCHAWE also offers various other components for rejuvenation and refinement for both models, such as the steering wheel in the S-Class.
